Liev Schreiber Saving the Planet, One Hand-Me-Down at a Time

Nobody said saving the planet was easy, but actors Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts know certain sacrifices must be made.

Rather than buying new clothes, they sometimes have their 19-month-old son wear things previously worn by their 2-year-old.

CBS News is not making this stuff up. "Kai wears Sasha's clothes," Schreiber tells the network point blank.

There will be a slight pause now so you can all catch your breaths.

CBS News reports Schreiber made this revelation while taking part in "The Darker Side of Green," a debate on climate change issues, held July 27 in New York City.

Former Teen Queen Tiffany Defends Miley Cyrus' New Sexy Image

Miley Cyrus's new sexy persona is just part of the job. At least Tiffany thinks so. Credit: Bauer-Griffin

Is Miley Cyrus too sexy too soon? Not if you ask Tiffany.

The Cyrus of her day, Tiffany -- the stage name of Tiffany Renee Darwish -- spent the better part of the '80s cutting records and touring shopping malls.

It was an age of modesty, purity and, of course, Madonna.

But even while the Material Girl was writhing around in her suggestive lacy wedding dress, most teenage girls and pop idols were fully clothed on stage. Tiffany bopped about in jeans, sneakers and long-sleeved shirts with only the usual amount of makeup.

Really, compared with some of the looks Cyrus has been sporting lately, even Madonna's '80s styles seem downright demure.

But it's just business, Tiffany tells UsMagazine.com.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame ... With the Jonas Brothers

The multitalented (and seemingly overscheduled) Jonas Brothers probably need a vacation. They're not taking one.

Instead, the ubiquitous trio is touring the country with their Road Dogs softball team (and no doubt sparking a new appreciation for the game in their legions of squealing tween fans).

Hip Hop Artist Kelis Talks Motherhood

When it comes to new moms who make you feel lazy, Kelis is pretty high on the list. In addition to raising her 12-month-old son, Knight, this month she released her new album, "Flesh Tone."

Our sister site, The BoomBox, caught up with the multitasking mom and talked music, parenting with ex-husband Nas and growing up.

"My mom teases me now because I used to tell her, 'My life is great. It's perfect the way it is. There's no need to add or subtract anything from it,' " says Kelis. "But she doesn't take into account that I was like 24 or something. So now she's like 'Look at you. You're such a good mother. Can you imagine your life without [Knight]?' I'm like 'No, I can't.' But I'm also six years older."

Check out The BoomBox's day with Kelis.

Kids often look to TV, movies and music videos for a little fashion inspiration, and now they can add virtual books to their list of style resources.

On Aug. 18, Ralph Lauren is set to launch its first virtual storybook on Ralph Lauren.com and Bloomingdales.com for readers ages 2 to 8. Narrated by Grammy and Emmy award winner Harry Connick Jr., father to three girls, "The RL Gang" tells the tale of eight uber-stylish kids -- four boys and four girls -- who encounter an adventure on their first day back to school.

Of course, there's a large fashion component at work here, too. The virtual book features 24 new looks from the Ralph Lauren children's wear fall collection that parents can simply click to purchase. See something you like, but aren't quite ready to buy? Tuck it away in a virtual closet to possibly return to later.

Fifteen percent of proceeds from the sales for the month after the launch will benefit Connick's charity, the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in The Musician's Village in New Orleans.

Gwyneth Paltrow's weekly newsletter, GOOP, normally focuses on topics such as shopping, recipes and travel, but in her latest issue, she gets personal, opening up about her own experience with postpartum depression.

"When my son, Moses, came into the world in 2006, I expected to have another period of euphoria following his birth, much the way I had when my daughter was born two years earlier," she writes. "Instead I was confronted with one of the darkest and most painfully debilitating chapters of my life. For about five months I had, what I can see in hindsight as postnatal depression, and since that time, I have wanted to know more about it. Not only from a hormonal and scientific standpoint, and why so many of us experience it, but from the perspective of other women who have gone through it."

Paltrow is not alone. About 10 percent of new mothers suffer from postpartum depression, according to Dr. Laura Schiller, who also writes about it in GOOP.

Angelina Jolie's Mother Abandoned Her as a Child, New Book Claims

Angelina Jolie's teenage years and young adulthood were marred by erratic behavior: drug-use, self-cutting and a volatile love life.

And Andrew Morton's juicy new tell-all "Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography" -- excerpted exclusively in the new Us Weekly -- argues that it all began with a traumatic event in the star's infancy. According to former babysitter Krisann Morel, Jolie's late mother Marcheline Bertrand virtually abandoned her baby daughter after a painful 1976 split from husband Jon Voight.

Morel claims that, for two years, Bertrand sequestered Jolie in a separate apartment in her building, where the young girl was cared for by a revolving staff.

Now 35 and a mother to six kids she shares with love Brad Pitt, Jolie has publicly declared her devotion to Bertrand, who passed away in January 2007 of cancer. But Morton writes that Jolie was permanently scarred by this early abandonment -- leading her to self-destructive acts and a "come here, now go away" personality.

The Wiggles
need to make a little more wiggle room inside the big red car.

Sam Moran, the yellow Wiggle and lead singer of the kiddie group, became a dad earlier this year.

Moran and his wife, Lyn, whom he met in 2003 when she played the lovable Dorothy the Dinosaur on the show, welcomed daughter Eloise Isabella Moran on Jan. 18, in Sydney, Australia. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces and, like her famous father, Dad says Eloise came out singing.

Moran, who hits the road July 28 with rest of the Wiggles to embark on a 26-city American tour, spoke exclusively with ParentDish in his first U.S. interview discussing the birth of his baby girl and the impact parenthood has had on him.

'Real Housewives of New Jersey' Star Caroline Manzo Discusses Son's Learning Disability

On "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," Caroline Manzo comes across as one don't-mess-with-me mama. But off camera, this mother of three is a big softie, especially when it comes to her children.

On an episode that first aired July 12 on Bravo, Manzo discloses something she normally doesn't talk about: her 23-year-old son Albie's learning disability, which he was diagnosed with at the age of 11.

ParentDish caught up with the mother and son duo at House Beautiful's recent Kitchen of the Year event in New York to talk about why the family chose to share something so private with the world.

ParentDish: Why did you decide to go public with Albie's disability?
Caroline Manzo: It actually wasn't my decision -- it was Albie's and I have to say I think it was really courageous to put out the message, "I am not perfect." No matter what struggles he went through, we worked together and Albie went to college.

Bethenny Frankel: Motherhood Has Changed My Life

Between growing her Skinnygirl brand and starring on The Real Housewives of NYC, Bethenny Frankel was always on the go. That is, until she met current husband Jason Hoppy, and became mom to her beautiful daughter Bryn, who was born on May 8. "It's unbelievable. It's every cliché, everything everyone tells you," she gushes about motherhood to Life & Style.

For this former workaholic and social butterfly, late-night partying has been substituted for baby-feeding sessions and designer duds for pajamas. "I breast-feed and pump, and I'd say Bryn eats every three to four hours," Bethenny tells Life & Style about her and Jason's tag-team schedule. "He'll do a feeding at 1 a.m., then I'll do one at 5 a.m. It's whoever hears it first, and we don't try to pretend like we don't hear it," she says about Jason, whom she calls an amazing and unbelievable father. "He is just so involved. He's one of those people who's never lazy and comes from a place of yes."

Bug juice, anyone?

Being the president's daughter and living in the White House doesn't make for a typical tween existence, but now Malia Obama is embarking on a most all-American summer experience: sleepaway camp.

In fact, President Obama tells NBC that Malia's camp plans are making it difficult for the family to plan a summer vacation.

"We're going to be trying to figure out where we're going to be able to take some time over the course of the summer," Obama says. "But a month of it's going to be taken up with Malia going away for camp, which she's never done before. And I may shed a tear."

In addition to heading off to camp, 12-year-old Malia is growing up in other ways: She has shot up to 5-foot-9 and is sporting a mouth full of metal.

"Even though she's 5'9", she's still my baby," Obama says. He also likes her new braces, he says, "because she was starting to look too old."

Do teens need Botox? Credit: Jeff Christensen, AP

MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Filipino teenage singer Charice Pempengco says she prepared for her debut on the hit TV show "Glee" by getting Botox and an anti-aging procedure "to look fresh on camera."

The 18-year-old Charice, whose singing career rocketed after appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' and Oprah Winfrey's talk shows, underwent a 30-minute Thermage skin-tightening procedure and Botox to make her "naturally round face" more narrow, celebrity cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo told ABS-CBN television.

Charice, in the same interview, said last week's face makeover was part of her big preparations for her appearance on the hit show's second season. She starts filming at the end of this month.

"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure," Charice said. Berry is portrayed by Lea Michele, who is 23.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says daughter Chelsea's approaching wedding is making nervous wrecks of both parents.

In an interview with NBC's Andrea Mitchell in Islamabad on Sunday, Clinton was asked about former President Bill Clinton's role in the ceremony.

"You should assume that if he makes it down the aisle in one piece it's going to be a major accomplishment," Clinton said with a laugh. "He is going to be so emotional, as am I."

After taking a three year break from the acting world to raise her now 3-year-old daughter, Margaret, actress
Kellie Martin, known for her roles on "Life Goes On" and the medical drama "ER," is back in the spotlight.

Now that Martin's little one is no longer a baby, the California-based mom is jumping back in front of the camera, making her return to the small screen with "The Jensen Project," a new two-hour movie premiering July 16, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.

The film centers around Martin's character, Claire Thompson, her husband, Kendrick (LeVar Burton of "Star Trek" fame) and Brody, their teenage son (Justin Kelly). The family is part of a secret community of geniuses conducting advanced underground research to solve the world's most difficult problems.

During a recent visit to New York, Martin spoke with ParentDish about how becoming a mother has changed her life, her reasons for returning to the work force and why she's on a mission to educate the world on an issue close to her heart. An edited version of the interview follows.

Old Spice Man Responds to a Special Girl

Gotta love the Old Spice Daddy! Credit: Procter & Gamble Co. / AP

While the star of Old Spice's most recent marketing campaign is all about uber manliness and romancing the ladies, it was nice to see him focus on a very important lady this week -- his daughter.

Following two viral commercials for Old Spice that lead to lots of parodies and talk show appearances, the Old Spice guy, Isaiah Mustafa, returned to the internet this week to personally respond to web commenters and even give a little sex appeal advice to President Obama.

To be sure, Mustafa's spots are hilarious; prepare to lose hours to the Old Spice YouTube channel. But the one that caught our attention is a special response to his daughter.

Haley Mustafa asked, "Why do you look so much like my dad?"

Her towel-clad pop, keeping his actor act firmly in place, replied with a whimsical tale of parallel universes, wherein he waxed on that her dad must not be as handsome and rich as the Old Spice Man himself. He finished up with a nice mention of how she deserves all the best toys in the world.

Gotta love a dad who 1) mocks himself and 2) backs up enough to give his daughter the spotlight.
